Italy: Meandering the Mediterranean Boot

As an architecture professor, I can't think of a better place to find inspiration than Italy, the birthplace of the Renaissance and home to countless artists, thinkers, master builders and their inspiring creations.

We began our twelve-day trip in Venice, on the northeast side of the boot, and worked our way southwest, wrapping up our travels in the capital city of Rome. Although we were on the move quite a bit, there was plenty of time to relax, sketch, and take in the country’s wonderful culture (pasta, cheese and wine!)

Here’s a photographic recap of the adventure. For more photos, along with building names, be sure to check out our Italy Gallery.
